<br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Historically Accurate:</span>
This means that the costume is historically accurate. So, for example,
the fabrics have been carefully researched, the seam placement and
styles of stitching have been done in the style of the time period you
choose. Buttons have been chosen with special attention to detail and
trims and decorations have been made to look authentic to the period.
This type is generally costly to re-create.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"> <span style="text-decoration: underline;"> </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Historically Inspired:</span>
This means that the costume was inspired by historical styles. The
fabrics in this style of costume will look like something from that time
period, but may be a newer type of fabric. Zippers might be used for
fasteners and fancy eyelets and historical laces might be eliminated.
These costumes are generally less expensive and still look like a
historical costume, but are not historically accurate in every detail.</span>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5678041976495982753.post-7254848486722886132012-05-18T08:37:00.003-07:002012-05-27T11:47:09.742-07:001870s Trained SkirtThe skirt is made from green shot taffeta with black velvet accents. You can see the little tucks, and the lace will be insertion lace; that is, I will sew it down, then on the wrong side cut the fabric away and finish the inside edges. That way, skin shows through the lace :-)<br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-grBzmuHgye4/T1Ooce0norI/AAAAAAAAAVQ/9zbT9RSOxOQ/s1600/camisole02.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 362px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-grBzmuHgye4/T1Ooce0norI/AAAAAAAAAVQ/9zbT9RSOxOQ/s400/camisole02.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5716097559326859954" border="0" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-atyj1R9ADX0/T1Oo03teodI/AAAAAAAAAVc/meFyKPLEdN8/s1600/camisole01.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 323px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-atyj1R9ADX0/T1Oo03teodI/AAAAAAAAAVc/meFyKPLEdN8/s400/camisole01.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5716097978324656594" border="0" /></a>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5678041976495982753.post-75739594841201004962012-02-20T19:45:00.003-08:002012-02-20T20:01:37.898-08:00Next Project<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KEimox7KveU/T0MUzW6I19I/AAAAAAAAAUI/GShkg4Njm9U/s1600/purple.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KEimox7KveU/T0MUzW6I19I/AAAAAAAAAUI/GShkg4Njm9U/s400/purple.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5711431624991234002" border="0" /></a><br /><br />This will be my next major project, but in olive green with black trim.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9Re8BfOesgg/T0MUAJLmfhI/AAAAAAAAAT8/LU4vDf-lOdM/s1600/purple.jpg"></a>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5678041976495982753.post-66507194778932381592012-01-31T23:12:00.000-08:002012-03-06T12:30:41.349-08:00Tsukino-Con Victoria<div>

I love Victorian/Edwardian designs, and that fits in nicely with Steampunk. I also love making corsets in beautiful fabrics such as damask, brocade, and taffeta.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1
